Translation

Highly ualified translators and native-speaking technical specialists ensure the linguistically flawless quality of your translations. In addition, all of our jobs are proof-read by a second native speaker. The translation of primarily technical documents places high demands on human capacities -- and just as high on IT capacities. We meet these demands by implementing Translation Memory Systems to support our translators.

We can translate and format your documents in the following programs:

Revision

Every document is carefully read and revised by a specialist -- who also takes our terminology databases into account. The language and content of the texts are checked from every possible perspective.

Our team also proof-reads documents written by our clients themselves.

Terminology databases

The translation process often includes repetitive, time-consuming tasks which can be made much more efficient using IT tools. Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tools -- which range from. computerised dictionaries and spell-checkers to Translation Memory technology and terminology management systems -- enable the translator to concentrate on the linguistic quality of his work.

The TRADOS Translator's Workbench builds on the fact the individual text segments are often repeated in technical documentation. New products often build on existing products. The same is true for the documentation belonging to the products. And, as product service lives become shorter and shorter, the documentation revision cycles have to become faster to keep up.

During translation the Translator's Workbench builds a database which stores all translated sentences together with the respective source sentences. This database technology enables the Workbench to provide the translator with suggested translations based on the existing translations. The translator then has the option of accepting or rejecting the suggestion. Every newly translated sentence is automatically added to the Translation Memory. If the same sentence appears later in the document -- or in a subsequent document -- the Workbench automatically suggests the previous translation.

Terminology management systems are database applications which serve to increase the translation quality. TRADOS MultiTerm, a multiple-language, term-orientated terminology system, enables glossaries to be saved in a flexible terminology database format. It also enables the translator to enter additional information -- such as definitions or contextual details -- for each individual entry.

DTP

Pure translations from paper originals are a thing of the past. Today's documents are normally created with a company-specific layout directly in a word-processing or DTP application.

We keep pace by offering you completely formatted translations. You then receive your document in all languages with formatting which exactly matches the original. We can even deliver translations ready to be sent directly to the printer.

Our experienced DTP specialists ensure that your translated documents are formatted to match the source documents -- while taking into account the differences that each target language requires.

Our proof-readers then compare each line of the transation against each line of the original. The DTP staff make any necessary corrections and then check the overall layout one more time. This interaction between DTP and proof-reading continues until your document is absolutely flawless, enabling us to send you print-ready files in all languages.
